Background
Capital Square Tower One consists of 32 premium grade office spaces and is the new headquarters for Woodside Energy in Perth.
Challenge
Multiplex needed to protect the clear anodised aluminium window frames during a 6-month internal works and fit out project. As the tape was going to be used over an extended period of time, the client was looking for a tape that would protect the clear anodised window frames while leaving no residue when it was removed at the end of the project.
The sheer scale of the project (28 floors) also presented a challenge along with the unique size of the window sub sills (240 x 40mm). Using a standard width tape meant multiple passes would be required to fully protect the sub sills requiring more labour time.
Solution
Aluminium Protecta Tape with low tack capability was the preferred solution for a long-term tape to minimise any residue left at the end of the project. The tape was supplied in custom widths of 150mm and 300mm so the client could apply the tape in a single run.
Final Result
The client achieved substantial cost savings from not only the greatly reduced application time, but also the tape being easily removable - in some areas, eight months later - without residue issues.
